The inside of a residential trash bin is one of the most biologically active surfaces on your property. Meat residue, food packaging, diaper waste — all of it sits in a heated plastic container that bakes in the summer sun. By the time you notice the smell, there are likely thousands of bacteria per square centimeter on the interior walls. Most Eastside homeowners think about cleaning their bins exactly once: right after something particularly bad spills inside. We're the service that makes it so you never have to think about it again.

Why Eastside Homeowners Choose PNW Softwash for Trash Bin Cleaning

We use a self-contained hot water pressure washing unit that heats water to 200°F+ for sanitization. Hot water kills bacteria, mold, and odor-causing organisms that cold water washing leaves behind. After the wash, we apply a biodegradable deodorizing rinse that leaves the inside of your bins smelling clean — not just looking clean.

All wash water is captured and disposed of according to Washington State environmental regulations — we don't let it run into storm drains. We clean at the curb so you don't have to move your bins.

What Our Trash Bin Cleaning Service Includes

Standard service covers your trash bin and recycling bin (up to 96-gallon carts). We also clean yard waste bins. The process: remove any loose debris, pre-rinse interior, apply degreaser and sanitizer, pressure wash at 200°F+, deodorizing rinse, air dry at the curb.

We offer one-time cleanings and recurring monthly service. Monthly service is popular with Eastside families who have young children at home and homes in warmer microclimates where bin odor builds faster in summer.

Pricing: single bin $49, two bins $79, three bins $99. Monthly recurring service discounts apply. We coordinate pickup timing with your collection schedule so bins are back before the truck arrives.

Frequently Asked Questions About Trash Bin Cleaning

How hot is the water you use?
Our self-contained unit heats water to 200–210°F. At that temperature, bacteria, mold spores, and odor-causing organisms are killed on contact — not just washed away.
Do I need to do anything to prepare my bins?
Just leave them at the curb on your regular collection day. We work after the collection truck has come through, clean them at the curb, and return them before you need them.
Is the wastewater just washed into the street?
No. We capture all wash water in our self-contained unit and dispose of it properly per Washington State environmental regulations. None of it goes into storm drains.
What's the difference between monthly and quarterly service?
Monthly service is best for households with meat-heavy waste, young children (diapers), or hot south-facing bin storage. Quarterly is sufficient for smaller households with mostly packaged food waste and a shaded bin location.
Can you clean commercial dumpsters?
We focus on residential carts (up to 96 gallons). For commercial dumpsters, contact us — we'll let you know if it's within our current service scope.
